Frequently Asked Questions

Sending money, verification, fees and building on SGX. Tap a question to expand.

SGX moves money between local wallets and the rest of the world. You can cash out to a mobile money wallet or bank account, or top up from one — and businesses can take payments through the same rails.

You do not need to know anything about crypto to use it. Enter an amount, pick where the money should land, and confirm.

Zimbabwe is fully live. Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, DR Congo and Malawi are routed through our partner network.

The destination country you choose on the swap decides which payout options appear, so pick it first.

In Zimbabwe: EcoCash, InnBucks, Omari, OneMoney and ZB Bank. Other markets offer their own mobile money and bank options.

Whether a payout is mobile money or a bank transfer is set by the recipient details you enter when you create the transfer.

USDT and USDC are the common ones, and ETH and BTC also settle. Transfers run on BNB Chain, Tron or Bitcoin depending on the asset you pick.

The network is shown next to the asset before you send. Always send on the network shown — funds sent on a different network cannot be recovered automatically.

The rate and the fee are both shown on the swap before you confirm, and the amount your recipient receives is quoted in full. There is nothing added afterwards.

Minimum and maximum amounts depend on the network you choose and are displayed on the swap as soon as you pick one.

Once your payment is seen on-chain the transfer moves on its own — there is nothing to claim and no ticket to raise. Confirmation time depends on the network you sent on and on the payout rail at the other end.

You are emailed at every stage: when the payment is received, when it is processing, and when it completes or fails.

Moving money across borders is regulated. Every account completes document and liveness checks before it can transact, and the face on the selfie is matched against the document rather than just collected.

You will need a valid government ID and a few seconds of camera access. Verification is once per account, not once per transfer.

Transfers and counterparties are screened for sanctions and financial crime risk. Transfers above the regulatory threshold carry the originator and beneficiary information the Travel Rule requires.

A transfer may be held or declined where those checks require it.

Quotes are held for roughly two hours. Once that window passes the order expires so you are not held to a stale rate, and nothing is charged.

Start a new transfer to get a fresh quote. If you sent funds to an expired order, contact support with the order reference and we will trace it.

Send the exact amount shown. It is matched to your order precisely, which is how a payment is attributed to you.

If you underpay, the order is marked underfunded and held rather than completed. Contact support with the transaction hash and we will reconcile it manually.

Every completed transfer keeps its on-chain transaction hash, so a payment can be verified independently rather than taken on trust. Look it up in the Block Explorer.

Your emailed receipt carries the same reference.

Yes. SGX Pay lets you charge your customers, settle to your wallet and issue refunds through one set of API keys, with a full sandbox in front of it and a hosted checkout if you would rather not build one.

Start in the developer docs. Keys are self-serve — there is no contract to sign before you build.

WebLN lets a browser Lightning wallet pay an invoice without copying it by hand. Where a Lightning payment is offered, choose “Pay with Lightning wallet” and approve it in your wallet — the amount is set for you.

You need a WebLN-capable wallet or browser extension. Without one, pay the invoice manually instead.

Read the full Refund & Transaction Policy. In short: settled on-chain transfers cannot be reversed, but failed and underfunded orders are reconciled, and merchant charges can be refunded through the API.

Email support@sgxremit.com. Include your order reference and, if you have sent funds, the transaction hash — that is enough to trace almost any issue on the first reply.

Our Terms of Service set out the rules for using SGX, and the Refund & Transaction Policy covers what happens when a transfer does not go to plan.
